Castello Excavation & Grading, Inc. is a family owned business dedicated to providing quality construction to our customers while bringing our projects in on time or ahead of schedule, as well as keeping within the budget.

Castello excavation & grading is a General Contracting firm specializing in grading of commercial, industrial & retail building pads, paving roads, excavation of detention basins and oversight of infrastructure work. We also work on heavy civil projects such as freeway interchanges and county & city roads. We have been in business in Nevada for over 19 years and a licensed Nevada Contractor #0041988 since 1996.

What sets Castello Excavation & Grading apart from other companies is not only our ability to guide our projects via experienced Superintendents and Project Managers but also the unique ability for our customers to deal direct with the owners. This hands on management gives our customers the ability to get a quick resolution to any problems that arise during any stage of construction.

Castello Excavation and Grading, Inc. are members of Associated General Contractors, Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and National Association of Industrial and Office Property (NAIOP).

HISTORY OF THE COMPANY

Castello Excavation & Grading, Inc. (formerly J & M Enterprises) was founded in 1991 by Marianne Castello as a flagging and equipment rental company. Castello Excavation & Grading, Inc. provided heavy equipment on various construction projects throughout the Las Vegas valley. In 1993 Marianne purchased the company’s first piece of heavy equipment – a Kawasaki 95ZIII front end loader and eventually expanded by adding water trucks and motor graders/blades to the fleet.

In 1986 Gary Castello started a local trucking company to supply contractors with aggregates including pit run, gravel, rock, sand and asphalt. Gary has over thirty years experience in construction in Nevada beginning with his days at Nevada Rock & Sand, sister company to Nevada Ready Mix. Gary supervised large freeway infrastructure projects. He then moved to Industrial Construction as Construction Manager to oversee all grading and asphalt construction. Projects ranged in size from $1m to $28m.

Both companies worked together on numerous construction projects. Marianne continued to operate the equipment rental business having obtained WBE (Woman Owned Business Enterprise) certification from the Nevada Department of Transportation and Clark County Department of Aviation.

In 1996 Castello Excavation and Grading obtained a contractor’s license for grading and excavation. Gary began working for Castello Excavation & Grading, Inc. as the Qualified Individual on their contractor’s license. Castello Excavation & Gradings’ focus turned to heavy construction projects.

Marianne continues to serve as President and lone shareholder managing the daily operations of the business. She oversees all equipment purchases, makes financial decisions, contractual decisions and makes determinations as to what projects the company undertakes.

In 1997 Tim Castello joined Castello Excavation & Grading effectively becoming a second generation of Castello’s to help guide the company into the future. Tim worked his way up through the company holding many field and management positions. Tim works hands on with new and existing clients to help insure the quality of the work provided by Castello Excavation meets or exceeds all standards. Tim also helps to oversee the long term strategy of Castello Excavation & Grading making sure Castello Excavation & Grading continues to build strong foundations and pave new roads in Nevada.

In 2004 Kimberly Castello joined Castello Excavation & Grading, Inc. bringing an expertise in the field of accounting. Kimberly has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting. Prior to joining Castello Excavation Kimberly spent a few years in Public Accounting specializing in small business enterprises. Kimberly now serves as the Controller for Castello Excavation & Grading, Inc.

In 2005 Tim was added as a Qualified Individual to CE&G’s contractor’s license. He has held a Real Estate License since 2000 and continues to pursue property development along with management of construction projects.
